Building green takes some experience to understand materials and conservation practices. You see it all as a commercial contractor. There are businesses willing to do anything for the environment, but then other companies only change certain policies or try to become LEED certified. While LEED certification is a big step forward, it shouldn’t be the only thing that makes companies want to do something for the environment. There are a lot of organizations and businesses setting the example as well. Much of the changes have come from the travel industry. Most hotels now proudly display an eco-friendly sticker on their advertisements because they know people want to stay in places that care about the world around them. These are just a few of the initiatives around the world that are doing something a little different to help the green cause.

While there may be a lot of companies out there still not involved in the eco-conscious movement, there are many businesses joining the cause every day. They support energy conservation, recycling and change to environmental friendly products for the sake of helping the world. In addition, they also take responsibility to eliminate their own waste and take charge of projects that are condemning parts of the world to a deadly fate. Green America works with different organizations, investors, consumers and businesses to harness economic power and lead it towards supporting businesses that are doing something to help the world. In addition, Green America goes around the world building sustainable communities.

The Marriott is one of the more recognizable hotel chains. That’s because this chain has hotels in practically every city, large and small. However, they also do something else to support their local communities. Most Marriott Hotels are eco-friendly. Recently the company decided to purchase biodegradable and recyclable corn by-product key cards. They saved 66 tons of plastic waste from going into landfills.

Las Vegas is a city of bright lights and entertainment venues. People go here for all sorts of reasons, but they probably don’t know that the “Most Eco-Friendly Hotel in America” can be found here. That’s the Las Vegas Palazzo Hotel and Resort. With a waste reuse program, recycling program and solar energy facility, they have become one of the leaders in the green movement.

Other businesses must catch on to the eco friendly trend in order to protect our planet. Many organizations are, especially with the new green Las Vegas hotels going up seemingly everyday. Going green provides a number of benefits not only to customers and consumers, but also to the bottom line.
