Chair Yoga: What is it?

Chair yoga is not generally recognized as yoga. However, it is a blend of modified Hatha poses that are done either in a chair or by using a chair as support in standing poses.
Chair yoga can help individuals gain some flexibility and even muscle tone over time. These are individuals who would otherwise not be able to exercise due to aging, illness or disabilities. So, even wheelchair-bound individuals are receiving many benefits from this style of yoga.

The new group of individuals incorporating chair yoga into their day is office workers. As people increase, the time in front of the computer, so does the need to release the aches in the body from sitting most of the time.
