Bay Laurel Essential Oil: Its Health Benefits


Bay leaves go into stews and soups to enhance and add flavor. Those same bay leaves are used to make essential oil that offers many healing properties. Bay leaves have also been used in some liqueurs and even some men’s colognes.

Bay Laurel comes from a large evergreen shrub or tree. It is native to the Mediterranean region. This essential oil is distilled from the leaf, along with the berries occasionally. Bay Laurel essential oil has a spicy and yet pungent aroma.

Here is an interesting piece of trivia from history. There were bay leaf crowns placed upon the head’s of Greek scholars to honor them. During that same time in history, those same bay leaf crowns were put on the heads of individuals suffering from headaches.
